Introduction

This is a recent photo of myself. It was taken at 8:30 am on Wednesday morning. I happen to be one of those annoyingly peppy morning people. So I had to stop to take a few photos and was then of course late for my appointment. The peppiness has its rule and limitations through. If I have to be anywhere for between 9am and 11am, I am a complete zombie. But anytime before that I am very cheery (however prior to that early morning, I will complain and moan about needing to drag myself out of bed, I prefer not needing to use an alarm clock). And anytime after 11am I am just my normal self. I must emphasize that I said "my normal self" which may not be (actually really isn't) what most would call "normal".

This is Odie (Odette). She will be two
years old in September. She joined my "family" in January
of this year. She is a three pound long hair chihuahua with a very sweet personality (and barely barks!). She is a little shy around new people and clings to her "mama" (me). She loves you play but will calm right down when needed. I have taken her to school many times and she sits quietly on my lap during lectures and tests.

Here is another photo of Odie compared to a skein of yarn.

This is Pookie (Pocahontas.... I was 8 years old when I named her). This photo was taken on the first night in our new apartment. She took her claim of the sink, but then later gave it up for a more comfortable spot on her blanket (also it is not easy for her to get up
onto the counter anymore, she is nearly 17 years old).

Pookie doesn't particularly like other animals and has only recently been seeking attention from people other than myself, but Odie has been very persistent in getting affection from Pookie. She still has a long way to go but they do sleep close together now. I have photo documented the slow progression (which I will not bore you with). At first they needed separate beds, but then Odie started joining Pookie on just one, and slowly the gab between them lessened, and now Pookie will come and squeeze herself in beside Odie. She still won't play with Odie though, and I don't think she ever will no matter how persistent Odie is. The obvious reason is that Pookie is very old, but even when she was a kitten she never much liked playing unless it is with a string. She did however, just the other day, try chasing a fly along the window ledge. The fly was outside flying by the window and Pookie chased it back forth from the window sill. She may be old and falling ill, but she still has a spark in her!

Hello new blog!

This is the first entry on my blog, and as the first it is the hardest to write. There is lots of pressure to make it fabulous, so naturally it will fall short of expectation, so I am just going to embrace that and except it and therefore make it as short as possible and just move on to the second entry where there is less pressure.
